Chapter 12

With a determined glint in her eyes, April approached Brandy in the courthouse hallway during recess. The tension between them was palpable, and the air crackled with unspoken animosity.

Still riding the confidence of her testimony, Brandy looked at April defiantly. “You think you can intimidate me? Your little act won’t change the facts.”

April gaze remained steady as she leaned closer to Brandy, their faces inches apart. “Brandy, you may have your version of the story, but I promise you this—I will get everything coming to me, and you won’t escape unscathed. You’re messing with the wrong person.”

Brandy scoffed, attempting to brush off April’s warning. “I’m not scared of your threats, April. You can’t bully me.”

April, unfazed by Brandy’s bravado, replied with a sinister smile. “Oh, Brandy, I’m not just talking about legal consequences. I’m talking about life. You stepped into a territory you know nothing about.”

Trying to regain control of the situation, Brandy retorted, “You can’t scare me with your empty words. I’ve presented the truth, and the jury

will see through your lies.”

April, before turning to walk away, leaned in one more time. “We’ll see about that. But remember, a five-star ass-whooping is coming directly from me. You’re about to learn the consequences of playing with fire.”

As April walked away, her words hung in the air, leaving Brandy uneasy.
